Rehearsals are held weekly on a Wednesday evening from 7.30 to 9.30 p.m. The normal venue is Ripon Grammar School, location and details here. In the week of each concert there is an additional rehearsal on Friday evening at Ripon Cathedral usually starting at 7.30 p.m. On the Saturday afternoon there is a rehearsal with the orchestra usually starting at 1.30 p.m.

Vocal scores are available for the use of members, usually free of charge. Please collect them at the first rehearsal. Copies will be collected straight away at the end of each concert (look for the box by the north door of the Cathedral) so that they can be returned to the library without incurring further costs. If you are not singing in the concert please arrange to return your copy on time.

Please note - we do NOT provide copies of Messiah. We use the Watkins Shaw edition - available here.

Singing members are auditioned by John on joining, usually in small groups, and there is a regular programme of review for the whole choir. Such auditions are usually during the break in rehearsal, or afterwards. However, this is a community choir and is open to anyone who can sing. The  audition consists of a simple voice test designed to make sure that people are singing the correct part. We will not require you to prepare anything for audition.

Income from sales of tea and coffee, and from a weekly raffle, is important to the Society and members are encouraged to take a turn in running the raffle and providing the prizes. Please sign the raffle rota!
