Rehearsal Arrangements

Rehearsals are held weekly on a Wednesday evening from 7.30 to 9.30 p.m. The normal venue is Ripon Grammar School. Our accompanist is Greg Smith. In the week of each concert there is an additional rehearsal on Friday evening at the Cathedral starting at 7.30 p.m. On the Saturday afternoon there is a rehearsal with the orchestra starting at 1.30 p.m. Rehearsal dates are shown below.

Income from sales of tea and coffee and from a weekly raffle is important to the Society and members are encouraged to take a turn in running the raffle and providing prizes. Please sign the raffle rota.

Vocal scores are available for the use of members, usually free of charge. Please collect them at the first rehearsal. Copies will be collected straight away at the end of each concert (look for the box by the north door of the Cathedral) so that they can be returned to the library without incurring further costs. If you are not singing in the concert please arrange to return your copy on time.

Another chance to sing with John

Harrogate Festival is setting up a new choral course in Harrogate over the Bank Holiday weekend in August 2008 which will culminate in a performance of Rutter's Magnificat and Elgar's The Music Makers in the newly-refurbished Royal Hall. John Dunford is involved and would be delighted to see singers from Ripon Choral Society. This might be just the course for you. Details are at the Harrogate Festival Choral Course website.
